Dear Community Friends,
My name is Craig Rankin. I’m President of the Lansdowne Community Association.
Our association has been working diligently with the Riverview and the Baltimore
Highlands Association’s to see a dream come true. We are trying to construct a
new Community Gateway Sign at the intersection of Lansdowne Road, and Hollins
Ferry Road. We are also working on installing flag poles and flying high our
community flags along with our American flag. Our goal is to bring our
communities together and show pride in our area.
I went to a workshop that offers information about applying for grants from the
Baltimore Community Foundation ( BCF ). I gathered all the information and went
to the community groups and explained our goal. We need something to show our
sense of pride, ownership and commitment. We need a Community Gateway Sign. We
applied for the grant and were given strong consideration for the grant. The BCF
group met with our community leaders and liked what they saw. Well just a few
months later they approved us for a grant for $5000.00. Our sign project will
cost around $9000.00 and we need a little help.
We could use your help in making this project happen. Please join with our
community families, churches, and businesses in making our project happen.
Please feel free to contact me Craig Rankin with Lansdowne, Ron Whitehead of
Riverview or Moses Rodriguez of Baltimore Highlands.
Please make checks payable to Lansdowne Improvement Association Gateway Sign
Project. ( LIA Sign Project ). Everyone will be invited to the revealing of the
sign. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Craig Rankin (
